Lighting of the Ships
Jump aboard the Argosy Christmas Ship or stay on dry land and let the ship come to you. Whichever you choose, you cannot miss out on the Pacific Northwest longtime tradition of the Christmas Ship Festival! On multiple nights starting November 29th through December, the Christmas ship will set sail to different waterfront communities throughout the city. Onboard passengers can enjoy carols and choir performances and then the ship docks and performances continue for the awaiting guests gathered around waterfront bonfires. This is a true Northwest event that will get everyone in the mood to celebrate!
Christmas at the Nordic Museum
From Christmas stories to beautiful exhibitions, the holiday season is in full effect at the Nordic Museum!

The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition
Do you find yourself singing Christmas carols year-round? Do you count down the days until the radio stations start playing Christmas music all the time? If you are nodding your head while reading this, then The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition is just for you! The competition takes place in downtown Seattle’s Westlake Center from 6-pm Friday, December 6. Compile your own team or just come to listen. Caroling teams sing at the top of their lungs on street corners in and around Westlake Center. The top teams will compete in a sing-off on the Figgy Main Stage.
Westlake Tree & Star Lighting
Get the holiday season kicked off with the annual Christmas tree lighting. Make sure to get there early because this is a tradition many people look forward too. The festivities begin at 4pm November 29, 2019 with music and performances and ends with the tree Macy’s Star lighting. There is also a rumor Santa will make an appearance! If the weather holds, spectators will also be able to enjoy a fireworks display following the tree lighting. After the hoopla, stick around and take a ride on the famous holiday carousel and see the sound-reactive light show that will be running throughout the entire season.
Every year the Sheraton Hotel culinary team partners with local architects and designers to create a magical gingerbread exhibit. Displayed in the hotel’s lobby, fans will be amazed at the detail and presentation each village provides. Houses will be on display 7 days a week.
Take a wildlife trek at Woodland Park Zoo and watch animals munch on holiday-themed treats, like wreaths with assorted fruit and more!

Cruise on over to Bainbridge Island via the Washington Ferries and enjoy Jule Fest, a free Scandinavian bazaar of arts and crafts, folk dancing, Vikings, a tree lighting, bonfire and an appearance by the big guy himself – Santa!
Festival of Trees
This beautiful display of gorgeously decorated Christmas trees can be found in the Fairmount Olympic in downtown Seattle. You will be wowed by these trees that are themed and created by professional designers. Patrons have the opportunity to buy a custom tree with proceeds benefiting Seattle Children’s Museum. For sale November 23-December 5, 2019.
