Morning Exploration

Start your day by taking a leisurely stroll through Winslow, the island’s main town. There is no shortage of boutiques, art galleries, gourmet shops, and eateries to explore. First stop: the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA). Admire thought-provoking exhibits by local and regional artists in this free museum. Insider tip: Mark your calendar for the BIMA Block Party, a free all-day festival of art and music, on August 5, 2023 to celebrate the Museum’s 10 anniversary.

Lunchtime Delights

After working up an appetite, head to Café Hitchcock in the heart of Winslow Way. This local gem is known for its locally sourced fare. Enjoy creative flavors, such as the succulent house-made pastrami sandwich or zesty avocado toast. For a sweet treat, try Mora Iced Creamery, Bon Bon candy shop, or L’Atelier TR for fine chocolates.

Afternoon Adventures

Bainbridge is home to some of Washington’s amazing wines. Fortunately, three of the island’s six wineries have tasting facilities within walking distance from the ferry. Island Vintners, at 450 Winslow Way E, is a partnership between Amelia Wynn Winery and Fletcher Bay Winery. Sample small batch wines available only in this tasting room.

For a scenic and refreshing experience, rent a bicycle from one of the island’s many rental shops and pedal along the picturesque Waterfront Trail. You can also walk along the pathway, which has picnic tables and benches along the way.
