Unleashing Your Inner Chef at Hotel Ändra’s Cooking School

One of the most popular activities at Hotel Ändra in Downtown Seattle is a culinary experience at Hot Stove Society Cooking School. Part of the Chef Tom Douglas family of restaurants, these lively recreational cooking classes feature a wide range of cuisines to unleash your creativity and create lasting memories.

Dive into a world of flavor.

Choose from an impressive range of classes every month. From international menus to specialized techniques, you’ll find a class that sparks interest. Embark on a culinary journey through Italy with a pasta-making class, perfect your dumpling-rolling skills, or learn the art of bread baking. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned cook, there’s always room to expand your repertoire in the kitchen.

Get hands-on experience.

Try your hand at making pizza from scratch. Learn the secrets of serving a perfect Spanish paella. Or level up your baking skills with Chef Douglas’ famous triple coconut cream pie.  At Hot Stove Society, the focus is on active participation and hands-on learning. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner — classes are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all levels.

Connect with fellow foodies.

Food has a powerful way to bring people together. Whether you come alone or with others, you’ll connect with fellow food lovers in a professional kitchen designed for fun! From the thrill of working as a group to the joy of savoring the fruits of your labor together, you’ll create lasting memories of your culinary adventure.

Consider a private cooking event.

Hot Stove Society also hosts private team building events. Events can be customized for social or professional occasions and tailored to your preferred activity level.

Watch a live radio show in studio.

Another unique culinary experience for our hotel guests is joining the audience of the Hot Stove Radio Show. Chefs Tom Douglas and Thierry Rautureau co-host the live show from the HSS kitchen studio. Guests are treated to a light breakfast before watching these James Beard award winners review the Puget Sound’s best restaurants, share recipes and answer listener questions. Tickets and schedules are available here.
