It’s the most wonderful time of the year…..or is it? For most the hustle and bustle and stress of gift buying, family hosting and more makes us want to pull our hair out. Make a list – There are a ton of activities to participate in from Thanksgiving to New Years. Make a list of you and your family’s favorites, then choose 3-5 events and stick to those. People tend to overbook themselves this time of year because they want to experience everything, but really it just leaves you feeling tired and burnt out.
Laugh and enjoy – A lot of times it’s our expectations that let us down and make us feel like everything this holiday seasons isn’t perfect. Try to relax and laugh about the little hiccups along the way. Kids screaming on the way to see Santa, In-laws overflow your toilet? Try to see these as funny stories you can tell later instead of nuances. Work on trying to find the funny in usual negative instances.
